Journalist Charles Watts has delivered the latest on Hector Bellerin’s future at Arsenal.

Watts appeared in the latest video on his YouTube channel and spoke about multiple potential incomings and outgoings from Arsenal. One player that he focused on was Hector Bellerin and whether he’d leave the club soon.

It was recently reported that Bellerin’s agents have held talks with La Liga side Real Betis and the Spanish club want to sign the defender on an initial loan deal with an option to buy him permanently once they have the funds.

Should Arsenal sell Bellerin?

Watts believes that it is widely accepted at Arsenal that Bellerin will be allowed to leave this summer and the time is right for all parties to move on.

He said: “Hector Bellerin – this is an interesting one. We’re all expecting Hector to go, it’s widely known at Arsenal that he will be allowed to leave this summer if a deal can be done with a club.

“[He] could’ve left last year, Arteta convinced him to stay one more year, did that, found his place out of the team by the end of the season – Calum Chambers, first-choice right-back; Cedric had even got ahead of him at times.

“The feeling is, two years left on his contract, the time is right for all parties to move on. Bellerin is already looking at possible new clubs.”

TIF Thoughts on Bellerin…

Bellerin made only 25 appearances in the Premier League during the 2020/21 campaign, as he contributed to four goals.

In what month did Mikel Arteta take over as the Arsenal boss?

Having said that, he failed to be a regular starter towards the end of the campaign and his injury issues have seen him miss multiple games over the last few seasons.

He’s still 26 and because of that, his sale may help Arsenal get a reasonable fee, so selling him in the summer may be the sensible move.
