Kennedy has been in the Celtic job for five matches now, picking up a points per match tally of 2.20. He is expected to remain in charge at the club till the end of the campaign.

McGregor believes that the longer the speculation about Eddie Howe keeps dragging on, the momentum could end up shifting towards Kennedy.

He said (18:29): “Let’s face it, if they go to Ibrox on Sunday and win, I think perceptions start to change about John. At the same time, the longer this goes with regards [to] Eddie Howe’s position, there could be a wee bit more momentum towards John.”

TIF Thoughts on Kennedy…

While Kennedy has done a decent job at the club, considering that the points per match tally is pretty high, it would be his first job as the permanent manager of a club.

Howe has managed Bournemouth for multiple years and took them from the lower divisions to the top flight. It shows his quality and experience as a manager and it is something Kennedy is yet to prove in the long-term.

Celtic are about to go undergo a transition anyway, so they’d need an experienced figurehead. Howe might still be a more suitable option.
