Lots of Celtic fans have been talking about Anthony Joseph’s tweet that emerged on social media.

Joseph tweeted about Leigh Griffiths following his goal for Celtic against Aberdeen. The journalist believes that the Hoops should start him in the next three games and he’s the sort of player who’s needed for Euro 2020.

He also argued that a fit version of Griffiths will benefit Celtic, Scotland and the player himself.

Joseph’s tweet drew the attention of many Celtic fans, who disagreed with his views about the Hoops striker.

What did Celtic fans make of Anthony Joseph’s tweet?

“You’d think with our country qualifying for Euros he would be busting a gut. He isn’t. Adams, Dykes, Fraser, Forrest and Shankland or Nisbet will be decent in my view mate.

After coming on as a second-half substitute, his goal against Aberdeen was Griffiths’ fifth Premiership strike of the campaign and his sixth in all competitions (as per WhoScored).

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

The Scotsman has been linked with a move to Pittodrie in recent weeks and reports have suggested that if Celtic end up releasing him in the summer, he could end up joining Scott Brown at Aberdeen (as per The Scottish Sun).

A lot of these Celtic fans don’t agree with Joseph’s views and they don’t believe that Griffiths is an important player anymore.

The Scotsman’s campaign has seen him get only a limited amount of minutes. His last start in the Premiership came against St. Mirren in late January, when he had played only 45 minutes in a 2-1 loss (as per Transfermarkt).

Neil Lennon had questioned his fitness and had urged him to improve, but it doesn’t seem as if things have improved from that perspective. So it is easy to see why Celtic fans aren’t keen on him.
