Celtic supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a report emerged providing an update on Eddie Howe’s future.

The former Bournemouth boss has been strongly linked to the vacant manager’s role at Parkhead in recent weeks and months after Neil Lennon resigned from the role back in February.

John Kennedy has been placed in temporary control of the first-team squad since Lennon’s departure, but the Glasgow giants still appear to be some way away from securing a long-term solution.

Howe was reportedly close to agreeing to terms on a move to the former Scottish champions, however, according to The Scottish Sun, his former side’s promotion push has caused further issues in the negotiations.

Several key members of the Cherries’ backroom staff had been targeted by Howe should he take charge of the Hoops, but promotion back to the Premier League would be thought to make them more expensive in terms of both wages and compensation deals with the south coast club, and it’s clearly not the news Celtic fans wanted to hear.

“In all honesty if we should be looking at other options, if he hasn’t said he wants the job then he can go elsewhere, we shouldn’t be holding out 4 a manager making his mind up, move on 2 next manager, he’s not that good of a manager 2 take his time deciding if wants Celtic job”

“I don’t give them the satisfaction of getting my click. I read the comments to find out what made-up trash they’re ‘printing'”

@IanGilmartin

“Who cares Mourinho is better”

“Celtic announcing Roy Keane will be some buzz”

@selikbhoy

“do you see Bournemouth getting up, I think it will be Brentford but surely there’s more to the hold-up.”

@Aidencorr7

“Seems every week there’s a new reason as to why Howe isn’t happening.”

Coaches Stephen Purches and Stephen Weatherstone, as well as Bournemouth’s technical director Richard Hughes, are the names earmarked by the report, and Celtic may be hoping that the Cherries have a late-season slump in the play-offs in order to secure Howe over the summer.
