Frank McAvennie has exclusively told This is Futbol that Celtic’s next manager could decide whether Olivier Ntcham still has a future at Paradise.
Having been restrcited to just seven Scottish Premiership starts in the first half of the campaign, the French midfielder was loaned out to Marseille in January, although his struggles have continued at the Stade Velodrome.
Does Olivier Ntcham deserve another chance at Celtic?
Yes
No
Ntcham has made just five appearances, three of which have come in Ligue 1, and was hauled off at half-time in their recent defeat to Nice to keep up his record of failing to last more than 45 minutes in a Marseille shirt.
Previous reports revealed that the Frenchman saw a summer move to Brest blocked, but he’s still expected to return to Celtic once his loan deal expires at the end of the season.
And McAvennie exclusively told This is Futbol that Ntcham would “relish” another chance at Celtic Park should he get one.
He said:
“On a personal level, I think Ntcham’s a good player, he’s just never had a chance.
“He needs 10 games. I think he’d do well with Soro or Turnbull because he’s got a range of passing. He’s a wonderful talent, but I think he’s gone off the boil because he’s not playing.
“When you’re not playing, you got disheartened. I wouldn’t be too disappointed if Ntcham comes back. He wanted to move because he wasn’t getting a game, it’s not because he doesn’t like the club.
“If a new manager comes in and says it’s a clean sweep, then I think he’d come back and relish it.”
