Celtic legend Johan Mjallby has recently talked about a dream scenario involving Eddie Howe for the Hoops.

Mjallby was recently a guest on the latest episode of The Celtic Huddle podcast and the panel talked about numerous issues involving the Parkhead-based club.

Eddie Howe was the main topic of discussion and Mjallby believes that if the Englishman comes in before the end of the campaign, it will be a dream scenario for Celtic.

Howe is believed to have an agreement in principle with Celtic, but the ex-Bournemouth manager has made certain demands to the club and he wants certain assurances before he starts working at the club. He is said to be keen on the job, having rejected advances from two clubs (as per Irish Mirror).

Should Celtic be desperate to bring in Howe before the end of the season?

Mjallby believes that Howe coming in early would give him the chance to assess the squad and potentially find areas of improvement in the team.

The former Sweden defender said: “The way I see it, the dream scenario would be that [Howe] comes in straight away, because that gives him time to see the squad in action and make his own mind up – where he needs to recruit, what positions and so on.”

TIF Thoughts on Howe arriving early at Celtic…

Howe coming in before the end of the season will make sense for Celtic, considering that the Champions League qualifiers will be played from June onwards.

The Hoops haven’t reached the group stages of the competition over the last few years, which is certainly disappointing for them.

So Howe coming in early can give him the chance to set the team up for the qualifiers and potentially make it through to the latter rounds.
