Joe Thomlinson has been speaking on the latest episode of Football Daily’s Sunday Vibes to discuss potential changes Premier League teams could make ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, where he revealed his stance on a possible move from West Ham United for striker Tammy Abraham.

The Sky Sports presenter highlighted his belief in West Ham needing to sign an out-and-out striker this summer following the departure of Sebastien Haller in the January transfer window.

Do you think Abraham would be a good signing?

Michail Antonio has shown some stunning signs of form this season in the Premier League, however, Thomlinson made it clear he feels the Hammers should be targeting a natural goalscorer.

One name which has been linked to a potential move across London to West Ham this season is Chelsea’s Abraham, who has not featured for Chelsea since February (via Transfermarkt).

Thomlinson was keen to voice his belief in the £36m-rated striker being a great fit for the Hammers this summer if Tuchel does not want the player at the Blues.

He said: “They’re linked a little bit with Tammy [Abraham], and I just feel that would be an outrageous move if they can pull that off.

“I feel like Chelsea might do a deal on Tammy this summer. I’m not sure he is in [Thomas] Tuchel’s thoughts at all.”

TIF Thoughts on Thomlinson’s comments…

Thomlinson makes it apparent he does not feel the striker has a long-term future with Chelsea whilst Tuchel is in charge of the club. Meanwhile, a move to West Ham could make a lot of sense for the 23-year-old.

The Hammers have shown massive progression this season and currently sit ahead of Tuchel’s side in the league as they hold onto the last of the Champions League qualification spots, and a move across the city would mean he would not have to relocate to a totally different part of the country.

We feel West Ham are crying out for a natural striker. Antonio has done a great job at filling in, however, to move to the next step consistently, we feel the Hammers should be targeting a striker who can remain fit for the season and net them in the area of 15 goals a season – Abraham certainly showed signs of that type of form at the beginning of this campaign and would perhaps, therefore, be a decent fit.
