Many Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on a recent transfer claim surrounding the club ahead of the summer transfer window.
A report in the Daily Mirror explored how as many as seven Spurs stars’ futures could be under threat this summer, with the on-loan Ryan Sessegnon being one of them.
The 20-year-old is currently out on a season-long loan at the Bundesliga side Hoffenheim, where he has made 16 league appearances despite suffering an injury that saw him out for just over a month.
Reacting to the idea of Sessegnon being made a victim of a potential overhaul in the coming months, many Spurs fans voiced their thoughts on Twitter, seemingly in disbelief that the youngster would not be given the opportunity to stake his claim for a first-team place upon his return:
“Why Sess?? No way we are keeping Sissoko. No way…”
“Sess needs to have another season”
“Sess? We’re not a serious football club”
“Everyone except Sessegnon”
“Selling Sessegnon would be a massive mistake”
“I’m almost done with this club if Sessegnon is sold!!!! Move on Jose just move on.”
Does Sessegnon have a future at Tottenham?
Sessegnon joined Spurs from Fulham in the summer of 2019 but has only made 12 appearances for the north London side since signing with his only goal coming in the Champions League against Bayern Munich (via Transfermarkt).
The 20-year-old is set to return from Hoffenheim at the end of the 2020/21 campaign, and it is clear a lot of Spurs fans want to see him wear the lilywhite shirt again amid speculation surrounding his future at the club.
