Lots of Tottenham Hotspur fans have taken to Twitter to voice their thoughts on the latest claim to emerge surrounding the relationship between Jose Mourinho and Toby Alderweireld.

The Daily Mail has reported the former Spurs boss ‘pleaded’ with the Belgian centre-back to leave his newborn child to play against Aston Villa in March 2020, only to be dropped two weeks later.

As a result, the pair have reportedly since had a fractured relationship which could possibly be viewed as the reasoning behind the 32-year-old’s reduced game time, having only made 19 appearances in the Premier League this season.

Spurs fans flocked to the tweet relaying the claim to lambast their former manager who has since been replaced temporarily by their former midfielder Ryan Mason.

“Mourinho is just a plain, scary narcissist imo”

Alderweireld scored in the 3-2 victory against Villa, however, he was cut from the starting XI just two weeks later for their game against Wolves – which they lost.

Going off the reaction of these Spurs fans, it is clear they are disgusted by the claims with one even relating it to a similar case made public regarding Ben Foster and former England head coach Fabio Capello.

Following the Portuguese’s sacking, it seems some supporters are even more glad that their former boss was dismissed earlier this week.
