Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have taken to Twitter to criticise the performance of Spurs central-midfielder Giovani Lo Celso in the Carabao Cup final.

So far this season, Lo Celso has struggled for game time at Tottenham – largely down to a number of injuries – with the Argentine making a total of just 15 Premier League appearances for the club, over which he has averaged a rather disappointing WhoScored match rating of just 6.55 – ranking him as Spurs’ eighth-worst performer in the top flight.

Spurs have had quite a few odd players over the years, but can you remember them? Here is the first one, who is this former Tottenham man?

And after Ryan Mason opted to start the 25-year-old in the League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday, it would appear as if fans of the club were far from happy with the performance of the £27 million-rated man, with a great number taking to Twitter to slam the midfielder’s efforts in the fixture.

Do you think Lo Celso was poor vs City?

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to the performance of Giovani Lo Celso against Manchester City?

“Lo Celso has been awful.”

@alexcoys2020

“They’ve got no support from midfield, Lo Celso has given away possession numerous times when a simple pass has always been on. I’ve said it for weeks he is shocking.”

@LeeMaggs6

“Needs doing at half time Winks and Lo Celso are totally absent. Shocking in a final.”

@gregcl2002

“Lo Celso has been terrible.”

@SpursStark777

“Sorry, Lo Celso is terrible. We got ripped off.”

@MoCap786

“Aurier and Lo Celso two clowns who should be sold in the summer.”

@george10352578

“Get Lo Celso off the guy is awful the worst of a bad bunch sell him.”

@thfc_fletchh

“I was officially wrong about Lo Celso, awful footballer, get out of the club.”

@thfcAlex14

All in all, it would appear as if these Tottenham fans were far from happy with the performance of Lo Celso against Manchester City, and, considering the £100,000-per-week man lost possession of the ball six times, as well as earning a SofaScore match rating of just 6.6 over his 67 minutes on the pitch, it is not hard to understand why.
