Tottenham Hotspur supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a report emerged revealing the club are already searching for replacements for Carlos Vinicius.

The 26-year-old striker is currently on a season-long loan from Portuguese giants Benfica, but Spurs have an option to buy the South American on a permanent deal for £36m in the summer.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the north London outfit are unwilling to stump up the fee required to secure his signature on a permanent basis, meaning Vinicius is set to return to the Eagles in the coming months.

During his time with the capital club, the Brazilian has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 22 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s men, but Harry Kane’s imperious form has limited Vinicius to just three Premier League starts, and it seems as though the fans approve of Tottenham’s decision.

“Kane got injured and Jose didn’t play him. Enough said.”

@BruceBrowning9

“He’s worth 10 at best.”

@Aaronwa40292830

“Good bring in Daka”

@abhispurs

“I’m not joking when I say Eric Dier has a better first touch than this man. I absolutely love him don’t get me wrong but we can do SOOO much better for £36m”

@tangangaweireld

“Cant stay onside and poor touch, love the man more than the player”

@SpursMa70313836

“half that would be fair”

@Wharfey11

Vinicius is valued at £18m (as per Transfermarkt), so paying double the price for the Benfica man during these tough economic times perhaps wouldn’t have represented good value for money for Tottenham.
