Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Dan Kilpatrick discussed Ryan Mason’s decisions regarding the Tottenham team in their Carabao Cup defeat on Sunday.

In the fixture itself, Spurs never particularly looked as if they could go on to win the game, despite the fact the scores were still level with just eight minutes of the match left to play – with Manchester City dominating possession, attempts at goal and attacking momentum.

Spurs have had quite a few odd players over the years, but can you remember them? Here is the first one, who is this former Tottenham man?

Following the match, Kilpatrick claimed on Twitter that Mason’s approach to the fixture, team selection and substitutes within the game highlighted the “inexperience” of the 29-year-old interim Tottenham manager.

In reaction to his claim, fans of Tottenham then flocked to have their say on the matter, with a great number appearing to be in agreement with Kilpatrick, staying their belief that the former Spurs midfielder seems to be clueless in the job.

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to Dan Kilpatrick’s Ryan Mason claim?

“Mason and Winks are friends. That’s why he played today and will continue to be picked…”

@laity1110

“Everyone else could have made better subs.”

@FtblMason

“Honestly Winks was the only glaring error in the team selection. It was the substitutions that were very very poor. Made no sense. Felt like he hadn’t been watching the game.”

@NdanguyTombele_

“Love Mason but I don’t see how you need experience to not sub on Ndombele.”

@thfc_Cho

“Mason must’ve thought it was 2017 thinking that bringing Dele on would change the game. This guy is more clueless than I imagined…”

@CptPriceII

“Honestly how does Ndombele not see the pitch? Our approach was bombing it forward in Jose style. Sickening.”

@THFC_Shaqtus

“Inexperience?! I’m inexperienced but wouldn’t have selected that awful lineup and embarrassing substitutions.”

@SingletonBen

All in all, it would appear as if these Tottenham fans were far from happy with a number of Mason’s decisions surrounding the Manchester City game, and considering how lacklustre Spurs were in such a big fixture, it is not hard to understand their frustrations.
