Dean Windass has exclusively told This is Futbol that Dele Alli would have ran to the training on Monday morning following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

The Tottenham attacker endured a difficult relationship both on and off the pitch with the Portuguese, and has been used as a bit-part player for the majority of this season.

Will Dele Alli stay at Tottenham this summer?

Having been dropped from the squad after the opening-day defeat to Everton, Alli has started just one further Premier League game, with the majority of his outings coming in the domestic cups and Europa League.

Alli enjoyed a slight revival following his return from injury back in January, which included a memorable overhead kick in Europe, although his late cameo at Everton on Friday is his only taste of first-team action over the last month.

The 25-year-old almost left for PSG in January, but having previously played with Mason during his first campaign as a Tottenham player, Windass believes that Alli could now come back into the frame under the interim Spurs head coach.

Spurs have had quite a few odd players over the years, but can you remember them? Here is the first one, who is this former Tottenham man?

“Dele Alli would have ran to the training ground, and would have been high-fiving everyone in the changing room,” he told This is Futbol.

“It’s nothing personal, it’s about, right, he’s gone, I might get in the team now. It’s fact. It’s not being nasty or a bad person, it’s just the way it is.

“But that’s how bad it was, I forgot about Dele Alli. Will Ryan put him in? Will he go down the Pochettino route where he puts that many English players back in the team? Because they were successful.”
