Newcastle United fans have been reacting to comments made by Neil Warnock about the future of loanee Joe Willock.

The 21-year-old has made a pretty big impact since joining the club from Arsenal on loan in January, scoring three goals, including two very important ones against Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United that have helped pull the club away from the relegation zone.

Middlesbrough boss Warnock was talking about his plans for loan players this summer (as per TeessideLive) and mentioned how big a fan he was of Willock’s ability, though he feels it might take a sizeable sum for Newcastle United to be able to bring him in for the 2021/22 campaign and beyond: “Look at Willock at Newcastle – I like him, but he’s probably going to go for about £20m if they get him.”

However, £20m didn’t seem to be too much of an ordeal in the eyes of Newcastle United fans, as when local newspaper The Chronicle relayed Warnock’s comments to them on social media and asked if he was worth that much, they seemed to think it was quite a reasonable fee to pay:

“He’s got something we’re desperately missing a midfielder with that uncanny knack of being in the box at just the right time to score”

“Only 21. Brings goals already and loads of potential. Snap him up.”
“I feel Willock could blossom at Newcastle United. Get it paid.”
“Bargain at 20mill”
“Worth every penny”

The thing is, it isn’t their money that would have to be spent on signing him, so it’s not really their decision at the end of the day.
