The capital club have missed out on their first-choice target after Julian Nagelsmann agreed to join Bayern Munich next season, meaning Levy is having to assess other options.
According to the Daily Telegraph, current England boss Southgate is ‘well liked’ by Levy after impressing the Tottenham chairman during his time with the national team. However, it appears as though the club’s fanbase aren’t keen on the 50-year-old.
“You would think levy is an arsenal fan honestly”
“This would truly be the end of me supporting Spurs”
“No way, we’re going backward, this is a joke right.”
“Good god. That would be an awful appointment.”
“Absolutely not. This would be verging on the ridiculous.”
“Honestly…I will burn my season ticket.”
The report also states that Harry Kane is a fan of Southgate and would support an approach for his international boss, but the former Middlesborough manager has a less than convincing record at club level, suffering relegation from the Premier League with Boro back in 2008/09, so the Spurs fans’ reservations are easy to understand.
