Liam Kennedy has been speaking on the latest edition of NUFC Matters about all things relating to Newcastle United.

Starting with a relatively recent player. Who is this?

One of the topics that he spent a lot of time on was the proposed takeover of the Toon by PCP Capital Partners, PIF, and the Reuben brothers.

This takeover was initially withdrawn in July 2020, but then the club launched a legal challenge against the Premier League over it, and that was made public last November.

It was then confirmed last month that the case hadn’t even started yet, but Kennedy believes that nothing else matters, and it is all down to this arbitration case.

He said: “My thing that I’m constantly going back to now when people ask us questions is, for me, there’s only one thing that matters at the moment, and that’s the arbitration, because that is the next step.

“The rest of it is just noise, it’s all hypotheticals. Until we’ve got a decision on arbitration, we know which way it might go.

“I think talking about whether PIF will push through with a deal is, again, impossible to know.”

Do you think arbitration is the most important thing for Newcastle right now?

Yes, it is all that matters

Yes, it is all that matters

No, there are other issues

No, there are other issues

TIF Thoughts on arbitration…

This whole case is very important for the future of Newcastle United because if the club win, it is thought the consortium intend to bid for Newcastle again

However, if they were to , then you would think that this takeover, at least, would be over, and they would be stuck with .

So Kennedy is probably right that this arbitration case is the most important thing for the right now, and we will have to wait and see what happens, but if the club win, there could be an exciting future ahead for Newcastle.
