Many Newcastle United fans have reacted on Facebook to a post from The Chronicle regarding the latest injury news surrounding Allan Saint-Maximin.

The French winger played a huge role in the Magpies’ win against West Ham on Saturday with his shot deflecting off Issa Diop in the first half to give Steve Bruce’s side the lead.

Do you think Newcastle will keep Saint-Maximin?

Yes, he will stay

Yes, he will stay

No, we could lose him

No, we could lose him

However, the 24-year-old was substituted just after the hour mark and was seen hobbling off the pitch.

Following the game, Bruce provided an update on the £25.2m-rated star’s latest injury concern, as relayed by The Chronicle:

“Saint-Maximin, unfortunately, has got a badly swollen ankle, which he did after ten minutes. It was touch and go at half-time whether he came out. We hope he’s going to be okay.”

The Toon Army flocked to the post relaying Bruce’s comments, with many taking a surprisingly unsympathetic approach to their reactions.

Saint-Maximin returned to action last weekend against Burnley with a goal and an assist following a number of weeks on the sidelines as a result of a groin injury (via Transfermarkt).

The reaction of these Newcastle fans is quite surprising given how much of an impact Saint-Maximin has had on their side, however, it is clear there is frustration surrounding the Frenchman, who has shown throughout his time on Tyneside he is prone to injuries.
