Newcastle United supporters have been reacting on Twitter after a report revealed Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman’s £44m superyacht has been seen anchored off the coast of Cornwall.

The Prince is part of the Saudi Public Investment Fund attempting to complete a takeover of Newcastle, with the group still involved in a court case as they try to get the deal over the line.

It’s been a long, drawn-out, protracted process as the Premier League authorities have rejected the prospective new owners based on the owners and directors test.

However, the sighting of the Prince’s superyacht on English shores, as reported by the Daily Mail, has given some Newcastle fans hope that an agreement can still be reached, even if most weren’t getting carried away.

“Does it fit under the Tyne bridge is the real question.”

“Be better when it’s anchored off tynemouth.”

@1davearmstrong

“he should take for a spin up the Tyne”

@GJ_1982

“Forget plane watch, it’s all about #yachtwatch”

@SamJonesJourno

“on a megabus to Newcastle before a signing session at the quayside spoons”

@nufcnathan

“Could this be significant?”

@Large****Lee

Indeed, given the takeover failures in the past, it’s understandable why most supporters are remaining calm following this latest development, and his boat simply being on English shores may mean nothing.
