Former Premier League striker Dean Windass has exclusively told This Is Futbol that Manchester United will be looking to offload Anthony Martial this summer.

If that turns out to be the case, the French forward might have played his final game for United after a knee problem sustained on international duty in a World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan looks to have put a premature end to his campaign.

Martial still has more than three years remaining on his current Old Trafford deal, but has struggled this season, scoring just seven times in all competitions and only four in the Premier League, which is the same amount as midfielder Scott McTominay and two fewer than back-up striker Edinson Cavani.

The striker is approaching 100 goals in a United shirt following his move from Monaco almost six years ago, but Windass doesn’t believe that Martial is consistent enough or trustworthy in the big games and therefore believes the Red Devils should cash-in.

Celtic fans, can you get 8/8 on this quiz on forgotten players? First up: who is this?

He told This is Futbol:“I watched him the other week he was unplayable, on his day he is unplayable, but then the question on the lips of the coaching staff and the manager is, how many good games is he going to have for us?

“Can you trust him in big games? And that’s the key when you’re playing for a big club. Big players perform in big games and and Martial doesn’t perform in big games. I think he’ll be out and another one they’ll be looking to offload.”
