Reporter Peter Martin has given his opinion about Celtic’s potential appointment of Roy Keane.

Martin was hosting the latest episode of PLZ Soccer’s The Football Show as the panel spoke about numerous issues involving Scottish football.

Touching on Celtic and potential managerial appointments for the Bhoys, Martin delivered a damning verdict about Keane and said that he will be ‘flabbergasted’ if the Hoops appoint the Irishman as their manager.

Football Insider has stated that Celtic have started talks to appoint Keane as their manager and discussions are underway. This comes some weeks after The Scottish Sun had stated that Keane would be interested in returning to management by managing his former club.

Martin gave a negative opinion about Keane’s potential appointment, saying that his managerial record is not good enough for the Parkhead-based outfit.

The reporter said: “They’re not going to get a Roy Keane because if he [Dermot Desmond] picks Roy Keane, I’ll be absolutely flabbergasted because I think his record is not worthy of becoming Celtic manager.”

TIF Thoughts on Roy Keane…

In his managerial career, Keane has not won a single trophy apart from helping Sunderland win the Championship and earn promotion to the Premier League during his time at the Stadium of Light.

While Sunderland were struggling when he first came in and he helped them towards promotion, the Irishman hasn’t managed a club in over ten years and that is something which should concern Celtic.

Therefore, it is no surprise he has not got Martin’s support amid the rumours linking him with the job.
