Lots of Celtic supporters have been talking about Luca Connell after a news update emerged on social media.

Republic of Ireland Under-21s manager Jim Crawford has recently spoken about Connell’s development at Celtic. He made it clear that it is vital for the youngster to be playing regular football and the lack of game time and injuries at Celtic have impacted his development.

This news about the youngster was relayed on Facebook by Celtic News Now. Many Hoops fans made their views clear about Connell.

What did Celtic fans make of the news about Connell?

Since joining from Bolton in 2019, Connell hasn’t played once for the Celtic first team – even though he was on the bench twice in the Premiership campaign this season.

How much do you think members of the Bhoys' squad are worth according to Transfermarkt? Starting with an easy one how much do you think Odsonne Edouard is worth?

In his ongoing loan spell at Queen’s Park, he made his debut and registered an assist in a recent game against Stranraer (as per Transfermarkt).

These Celtic fans want to see their club give Connell a chance and some are angry that he was phased out of the team.

Connell can play in central midfield and can also play at left-back. Considering that Scott Brown is leaving at the end of the campaign, the Hoops may need depth in midfield and Connell would offer just that. Diego Laxalt is at the club only a loan deal and he departs at the end of the season.

So if the loan stint at Queen’s Park goes well, Connell might have a shout at playing first-team football at Celtic.
