Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to a post on the club’s official Twitter account confirming Jose Mourinho intends to start Harry Kane against Dinamo Zagreb tomorrow.
The north London outfit are already leading their Croatian opponents 2-0 in this Europa League last-16 tie after Kane bagged a brace in the first leg, but the Spurs boss has no plans to rest his star striker.
Kane has already played 38 times for the capital club this season, bagging an impressive 26 goals and providing 16 assists in all competitions.
However, the supporters saw Son Heung-min leave the field early in the derby game against Arsenal last weekend and are clearly fearful that the same fate could see their captain spend a significant spell on the treatment table.
“Overplaying Kane will only end up like the Son situation, we could easily go through starting Vini imo. Ridiculous if you ask me.”
“This better be a lie.”
“Finished club. Finished manager.”
“We’re 2-0 up, keep him on the bench the last thing we need is him to get injured”
“Overusing players to try and save his job again”
“If we can’t win this game without Kane we’re in trouble. I’d put him on the bench at best.”
With their side taking such a healthy lead into the second leg, it’s easy to understand why these Spurs fans aren’t happy with Mourinho’s intention to start their talisman in midweek.
