Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting to the performance of Harry Winks during their game in the Europa League against Dinamo Zagreb.
Spurs were dumped out of the competition following a miserable performance in the Croatian capital, despite coming into the game with a 2-0 lead from the first leg.
They should have been through comfortably, especially given the strength of their starting eleven, but it appears things would have been a lot more comfortable had the England international, valued at £19.8m on Transfermarkt, put in more of a shift during a game in which he didn’t really offer much going forward or in defence.
Speaking ahead of the game, Spurs boss Jose Mourinho had said that he decided to start Winks in this game because: “Winks is working well and hard.”
Those words appear to have come back to haunt him, because there was a large swathe of fans watching the game at home that felt quite the opposite:
“Winks has lost it, he looks scared to play a forward pass. Shame.”
Do you think Spurs should sell Harry Winks in the summer?
Yes
No
Having missed out on the England squad earlier today, you’d think he’d have been in the mood to impress the England boss to make him change his mind, but that obviously wasn’t the case.
