Leeds United supporters have been reacting to the news that the club have received a boost in their pursuit of Real Madrid’s Lucas Vazquez with a view to a potential summer move.

Spanish outlet COPE (via Sport Witness) has suggested the Spaniard is making plans to exit the Bernabeu in the coming summer.

The versatile winger-turned-full-back has made 233 appearances for his boyhood club and has established a reputation as Madrid’s utility man.

Despite enjoying a trophy-laden career with Los Blancos, Vazquez has become frustrated with the lack of movement in recent contract negotiations. His current deal runs out in just a few month’s time, and the 29-year-old wants an increase in pay to reflect his importance in Zinedine Zidane’s setup, a demand the club’s hierarchy are unwilling to comply with.

That has led to several European sides eyeing up the Spain international, who would be available on a free transfer in the upcoming window, although, fans of the Elland Road outfit were sceptical of their side’s chances after the claim was shared on Facebook:

Marcelo Bielsa’s first-choice right-back Luke Ayling has been one of the best performers for the newly-promoted side this season. Vazquez may add a star name to the West Yorkshire side, but the supporters appear to be more than content with the former Yeovil Town man.
