Leeds United fans have been reacting on Twitter to the sight of Ian Poveda returning to fitness after a lengthy injury layoff.

The 21-year-old joined the Whites on a free transfer over the summer after leaving Manchester City and started to impress the Leeds faithful before picking up an ankle injury last month.

Poveda is still searching for his first Premier League start and goal, but many impressive displays from the bench illustrate the potential that the diminutive winger possesses.

Despite the former England Under-20 international only appearing in the league as a substitute so far, the young forward’s comeback in a youth team fixture seems to have excited several supporters of the West Yorkshire side:

“Well played today Ian. If it wasn’t for their keeper you’d have a couple of goals to your name today.”

@AnonymousWedger

“Looked well fit enough for a 1st team return, never stopped running for 45 minutes. Three Wolves guys on him, class act today.”

@Ibiza_Whites

“Good game today. Keep up the good work.”

@iancollenette1

“Poveda and Drameh were different class”

@robbydeb

“Remember the name”

Marcelo Bielsa’s men have enjoyed a solid first season back in the English top-flight after a 16-year absence, and the return of Poveda could provide a boost to the Elland Road outfit.
