Aston Villa podcaster Chris Dolan has been sharing his thoughts on Jack Grealish’s absence through injury and the impact it has had on the team in recent weeks.

This comes after Dolan recently made an appearance on the latest episode of The Villa View Podcast where he reflected on the Birmingham club’s recent 2-0 defeat against Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.

On the subject of Grealish, who missed the game against Jose Mourinho’s side with an injury he picked up last month, Dolan had this to say about the situation and what his absence has meant for Villa’s recent run of results. (34.16)

He said: “It’s just a little bit alarming that one player can have such an influence, although he is world-class, and he is one of the greatest probably the greatest player to ever put on an Aston Villa shirt or one of them, but it’s still a worry when he’s not around that team just look void of any ideas.”

As a product of Villa’s youth academy, Grealish made his senior debut for the club back in 2014 under former Villa manager Paul Lambert.

Since then, the 25-year-old, who is currently valued at £54 million, has made 209 appearances for Villa across all competitions, scoring 32 goals and providing 43 assists in the process (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Chris Dolan’s comments on Grealish and his absence from the team…

Given how Villa have only managed to win one of their previous six league games and score just three goals in the process, this shows that they have missed having Grealish in the side seeing as he has been involved in 16 of Villa’s league goals so far this season.

Moving forward, everyone at Villa will be hoping that Grealish can now use this international break to fully recover from his injury and try to get back up to full speed so he can get back on the pitch for Villa’s next league game against Fulham.
