A lot of Leeds United fans have reacted on Twitter to a tweet from their former striker Jermaine Beckford as the 37-year-old looked back at the day the Yorkshire club signed him.
Beckford made the move from Wealdstone in 2006 on a free transfer and spent four years on the books at Leeds before moving on to Premier League side Everton in 2010 (via Transfermarkt).
In Beckford’s 147 appearances for United he found the back of the net 84 times across all competitions, including the winner at Old Trafford against their rivals Manchester United in the FA Cup.
Reacting to the tweet, Leeds fans hailed their former striker as he marked the 15th-year anniversary since he made the move to play for Leeds.
“I wish you could have stayed to take us back to the Prem. You and two quality CMs were the difference why we got so close in our first season back in the Championship.”
