Celtic pundit Amy Camavan has urged the Hoops to move for Eddie Howe soon.

Camavan was a guest on the most recent episode of the Celtic State of Mind podcast and along with Colin Watt, she talked about potential Neil Lennon replacements at Parkhead. One manager that they talked about was Eddie Howe. Camavan urged the Bhoys to get on the phone with Howe and get him to watch the remaining eight games, so that Celtic already establish a connection with the Englishman.

Howe was linked with a Parkhead switch last year, when it was reported that Celtic had actually contacted him to replace Lennon. Along with him, contact was made with Roy Keane and Martin O’Neill too.

Howe is currently unemployed after having left Bournemouth and Camavan believes that Celtic would have to hurry up in approaching him because things can happen down south too.

The pundit commented (23:16): “They have to be on the phone to Eddie Howe. There’s eight games here, come and watch – whatever you’re wanting access to, we can give you right now. To sort of not tie them down but just bring that connection because if you wait till these eight games are over and you wait until this summer – Crystal Palace maybe not with Roy Hodgson, but Newcastle.

“There will be shifts this summer. Big season down south, there’s a lot of talk of movements.”

TIF Thoughts on Eddie Howe and Celtic…

Howe’s second stint at Bournemouth began in 2012 and ended in 2020. During this period, the 43-year-old Englishman took the Cherries from League One to the Premier League. In their second season in the top flight, Bournemouth finished as high as ninth in the Premier League table.

This might a reflection of his abilities as a manager. Howe’s football style is based around playing attractive football and keeping possession.

All of these things make Howe are good option for the Bhoys. So to avoid Premier League clubs hiring him, Celtic might have to act soon.
