Newcastle United have been reacting to the news that Mike Dean will be officiating them this weekend in their game against Wolves.

The game is a pretty important one for Steve Bruce’s men as a defeat could open up the door for Fulham to jump ahead of them at the bottom of the Premier League table.

It will actually be the first time that Dean has officiated a Newcastle game this season, but their recent record hasn’t been too bad when he’s been in charge, with the club website pointing out that the last two times he has officiated , they’ve gone on to win the game. So if you believe in ‘luck’, then you might just fancy Newcastle to win this one.

Although that wasn’t exactly the mood the fans on social media felt when the news was relayed to the fans via the club’s Twitter feed, as they didn’t feel entirely confident that he would be doing them any favours:

&8220;Loss incoming”

“Controversial Wolves penalty and a questionable red card for one of our players incoming!!”
“Red Card and Penalty to Wolves, Remember he sent Yedlin off in this fixture 2 years ago”!
“Just when you thought things couldn’t get any worse the Mike Dean show moves on to Newcastle.”
“The League are making it certain nufc go down aren’t they”
“As if things weren’t bad enough!!!!!”

Will Newcastle avoid relegation this season?

Maybe they think it’s a case of ‘third time isn’t the charm’?
