Lots of Celtic fans have been discussing Ryan Christie and his future at Parkhead.

Pundit Frank McAvennie has recently talked to Football Insider about Christie’s current situation at Celtic. McAvennie said that it is true that Christie wants to depart Celtic in the summer and the stories making rounds in the media say the same.

The pundit also said that if he wants to play in the Premier League, he needs to perform better this season. He also believes that Celtic have been ‘shoehorning’ Christie in the team and the way he’s performing, he won’t survive in the Championship, let alone in the Premier League.

What do Celtic fans make of Ryan Christie?

Christie had featured for Celtic against Ross County on Sunday, but the Scotsman was taken off late in the game for Mohamed Elyounoussi. Christie had picked up a rather poor rating of 6.22 in the game on Sunday, failing to score or assist in the tie (as per Whoscored).

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

Burnley and Nice have been linked with a move for the midfielder in the past. Other Celtic fans also made their views clear about the Scottish star.

Some of these Celtic fans want Christie gone from the club and some of them feel that he’s not performed well in the current campaign.

In the current season, Christie has scored five goals for the Bhoys, picking up 13 assists for the club. In the Premiership, he has four goals and nine assists (as per Transfermarkt).

While this shows that he has been important player for Celtic this season, Christie’s contract runs out in the summer of 2022 and if he wants to leave, 2021 could be Celtic’s best chance of earning a fee from the midfielder’s sale.
