Image for Tottenham Hotspur: Fans react to image of Harry Kane

Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which shared an image from Spurs’ loss against West Ham United on Sunday.

The image (which originated from Sky Sports) shows an incident in the second half of the fixture, in which Harry Kane had broken through the West Ham defence and was bearing down on goal from an angle, with both Dele Alli and Heung-min Son as free options for a square ball across the box.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

However, ultimately, Spurs would squander the chance and subsequently went on to lose the fixture 2-1 – the club’s fifth league defeat in their last six matches.

And, after The Spurs Web shared the image on Twitter, fans of Tottenham flocked to have their say on the matter, with many criticising Harry Kane’s decision making in the incident.

Do you blame Kane for Spurs' loss?

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to the image?

“Don’t say this often, but Kane was so poor today. This typified his performance, no idea why he waited to play it and then put it behind everyone.”

@Adam_James2206

“Nightmare fuel.”

@jonlubin

“This is harrowing stuff. Does XG even pick this up as a chance, as it doesn’t find Dele or Son? Who knows. It’s an open goal in every sense.”

@TottenhamChron

“Kane was awful today.”

@justinsteichen

“So wasteful.”

@g2mcc

“This will haunt all of us but Dele.”

@factNnonfiction

“As I have said, Kane has a shocker here, this has to be squared now. He didn’t of course and the defenders then got back. But as it’s Kane it’s ok, our fans will turn a blind eye. He is Spurs, he’s great. But today was an off day. Missed a couple of chances too.”

@Mt1Mark

“Score this and we probably win it. Bottled it. Bottling it for decades.”

@Josejapan1978

“This was appalling from Kane. I mean, I thought he played really well and would have scored on another day but the extra touch absolutely killed the chance.”

@Harry_Sherlock

“Couldn’t believe my eyes when we didn’t score from this.”

@CraigCoughlan11

“This actually gets worse the more you look at it.”

@enterkaned

“This has been on my mind the whole day.”

@JeremiahCaball2

All in all, it would appear as if these Tottenham fans were far from happy with the decision making of Kane in the incident highlighted in the image, as well as the centre-forward’s overall display in the match, however, considering the 27-year-old has been far and away Spurs’ best player this season, perhaps it could be argued that their comments are slightly harsh.
