Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have taken to Twitter to criticise Jose Mourinho following Spurs’ defeat to Chelsea on Thursday evening.

Coming into the London derby against Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea side, Tottenham had not been in the best of form – winning just two of their previous nine Premier League fixtures.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

And, things did not look like improving for Mourinho’s side in the first half of the fixture, with Spurs managing just 32% of possession, having two shots at goal, creating no big chances and losing the battle of duels – 24 to Chelsea’s 27 – going into the half 1-0 down following Jorginho’s 24th-minute penalty.

In addition to this, Tottenham’s attacking momentum in the first 45 minutes was very nearly non-existent, as can be seen in the SofaScore graph below:

After Mourinho decided to withdraw Tanguy Ndombele in the 69th minute, despite the midfielder’s performance ranking him as Tottenham’s joint-third-best performer in the match, fans of the club flocked to Twitter to vent their frustration at the manager, both for his substitutions as well as the team’s performance as a whole.

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say regarding Jose Mourinho?

“#THFC 3 attempts on goal in 80 minutes at home. Does Mourinho know how to attack? Woeful. #MourinhoOut”

@slink_shady

Levy’s last words on AVB. We’re going backwards. The same can be said with #Mourinho. This is dreadful, AGAIN! #THFC #TottenhamChelsea”

@Spud_Jimmy

Mourinho should be sacked for taking Tanguy off. #JoseOut #TOTCHE #Mourinho #thfc”

@hoile_i

Mourinho out. Enough negativity #THFC”

@RegardeleCanard

“I’d actually take Ted Lasso over Mourinho at this stage #thfc #COYS”

@Rrinoceros

“He’s joking with us now”

@N17_COYS

“The awful subs continue”

@thfchazza

“Guy is clueless”

@thfcberba

“Hahaha what a joke”

@jonokaufmann23

“We are an absolute joke. Pathetic start to finish.”

@Jackpneale

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Tottenham Hotspur fans have had enough of Jose Mourinho, with many calling for the club to sack the 58-year-old, while others simply commented on how much of a joke they think their side have become under the Portuguese boss.

It seems like Spurs’ fans patience is wearing thin with Mourinho.
