Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report regarding Spurs’ interest in FC Schalke 04 centre-forward Matthew Hoppe.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

The report continues by stating that the German side ‘have no desire’ to part with the £2.7 million-rated 19-year-old, however, due to the significant interest from some of Europe’s top clubs and Schalke’s dire financial situation, Christian Gross’ side may be left with no option but to sell the youngster.

And, after THFC Report relayed the article on Twitter, fans of Tottenham flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to be delighted at the prospect of their side making a move for the American striker.

Would Hoppe be a good signing for Spurs?

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to reports of their club’s interest in Matthew Hoppe?

“Oh I beg we sign him, this better be true.”

@THFC_Jake

“Yes please.”

@devrxs

“Oh mad.”

@FtblMason

“He is good. But playing on a very poor Schalke team. He puts himself in really good positions, has a pretty soft touch, and has a knack for goal.”

@supernerdlandon

“Heard amazing things about this guy.”

@NdombeleFC

“Hoppe we sign him.”

All in all, it would appear that these Tottenham fans would love to see their club make a move for Hoppe this summer, and, considering the impact the 19-year-old has had at Schalke in such a short space of time, it is not difficult to understand why.
