Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which relayed a report that claims Spurs are interested in a summer move for Barcelona left-back Junior Firpo.

According to reports in Spain, Tottenham are prepared to propose Barcelona with an ‘important offer’ for Firpo, as Jose Mourinho looks to reinforce the left-hand side of his defence for next season.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

The report continues by stating that Mourinho has informed the Tottenham chairman, Daniel Levy, of his desire to sign the £9 million-rated 24-year-old, and that Firpo would meet ‘all expectations’ of the 58-year-old boss, as the defender is both fast and adept at running with the ball.

However, after The Spurs Express relayed the report on Twitter, fans of Tottenham flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing to be distraught at the prospect of their club making a move for Firpo at the end of the season, as plenty came to the same conclusion.

Do you think this means Reguilon will leave?

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say in reaction to the report regarding their club’s interest in Junior Firpo?

“Reggy going?”

@kanefromthelane

“Is this because he knows Reguilon is returning to Madrid?”

@thfc0405

“This only makes sense if Reggie has told the club he’s off.”

@TomsBarry

Reguilon is leaving?”

@Totnumszn

“Nooooo.”

@dannythfc1

“So Reggie is going back to Madrid in the summer then.”

@ScaramangaJoe

“This doesn’t make sense. We have Sergio Reguilón, Ben Davies and Ryan Sessegnon to come back. #THFC #COYS”

@HarryHotspurWHL

All in all, it would appear that these Tottenham Hotspur fans believe that a move for Firpo would likely mean that Sergio Reguilon is set to return to Real Madrid, who could look to activate their buy-back clause for their former defender.

Considering the 24-year-old has impressed since joining Spurs last summer – averaging a WhoScored match rating of 6.87/10 over his 13 Premier League appearances – we can’t say we blame them.
