Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter have been sharing their praise and admiration for Lilywhites defender Japhet Tanganga.

This comes after the official Spurs Twitter account shared a post on their page relaying comments made by Tanganga to the club about his recent appearance for Jose Mourinho’s side in their 3-0 defeat against Manchester City.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

Tanganga said that he was “happy” to make his first Premier League appearance for Spurs this season against City but that they need to “look back at it as a team” and see where they can do better moving forward.

This post then gathered a lot of replies from Spurs fans who were not shy in sharing their thoughts about the Englishman.

So, what did these Tottenham fans have to say in response to Tanganga’s latest comments to the club?

“Take care of yourself and stay healthy, you should be in the starting XI”

@AtdawnRidin

“Should play most games for us tbh”

@ElliottConnor03

“You’re a great player and can look forward to getting more games”

@gilchristdm

“This dude can be a staple in our defence for years if we give him the tools to succeed.”

@Jorey_White

“Play him, Jose. A top, top talent that needs to play…..”

@andrewlucas44

“One of the bright sparks. Should start every game at right-back or centre back”

@AndyBranton84

“He comes across as so mature and well-spoken anytime he’s interviewed, his character seems second to none.”

Looking at the replies to this post, it’s clear to see that these Spurs supporters are big fans of Tanganga and think that he could go on to be an important figure for the team this season and for the foreseeable future.

Also, with the defender managing to earn himself a respectable match rating of 6.49/10 for his performance against Pep Guardiola’s side, with only Harry Kane and Gareth Bale scoring higher, it’s fair to see why these Spurs think Tanganga has the ability to play regularly for the club at a high level.

Is Tanganga Spurs' best defender?

Yes

Yes

No

No

However, with the 21-year-old, who is currently valued at £7.2 million, having suffered his fair share of injury issues in the past, this could potentially become an issue if he keeps picking up these problems and having to miss certain matches in the future in our view.
