The Argentinian, valued at £31.5m on Transfermarkt, has been out with a hamstring problem that he picked up back in December, but is slowly getting himself back into contention to be in Mourinho’s plans for the first-team once again.
Tanguy Ndombele recently posted a picture on his Instagram story (via @TheSpursExpress) that showed Lo Celso back at the Spurs training ground, and speaking ahead of their game with Austrian side Wolfsberger in the Europa League (via @AlasdairGold), Mourinho was able to offer a further update by claiming it is still a couple of weeks before he’ll be able to play but the “beautiful relationship between Gio and the ball is magnificent, so it’s good news.”
News which went down very well with the fans on social media, who were looking forward to the prospect of him coming back, with some hinting that he might be the one to turn their season around:
“That is good news. Welcome back Gio and hope you get fit soon”
Would you like to see Lo Celso and Ndombele start a game together?
And with them down in 9th place, they’re going to need all the help they can get if they are to salvage anything from this campaign.
