Many Newcastle United fans have flocked to the latest tweet from Martin Dubravka that recently emerged on social media.

The Newcastle goalkeeper recently tweeted about his time at the club so far, posting about the fact that it has been three years since he joined the St. James’ Park side. He tweeted an image of himself catching the ball against Manchester United and the caption said ‘great memories’.

Dubravka, who is now valued at £6.75 million (as per Transfermarkt) had joined Newcastle from Sparta Prague in the summer of 2018 for a fee of only £3.6 million. Since joining, the goalkeeper has made 90 appearances in all competitions for the Magpies, keeping 26 clean sheets and conceding 120 goals for them (as per Transfermarkt).

The Slovakian had sustained a heel bone injury earlier in the campaign and this had kept him out of action for over 100 days. As a result of that, he is yet to feature even once in the Premier League this season and has been on the bench multiple times in the last few weeks.

A lot of these Newcastle fans want Dubravka to play in the club’s first-team soon and some seem desperate for it.
The 32-year-old played every single game for the club in the last two seasons. In the 2019/20 campaign, he picked up a good rating of 6.72. In the 2018/19 campaign, he grabbed a rating of 6.62 (as per Whoscored). And, he even went on to claim the prize of the club’s Official Player of the Year award last season, so it’s easy to see why these fans are so eager to see him back after being crowned the club’s best player.
