Newcastle United fans have been reacting to the performance of Emil Krafth during their game against Chelsea.
Whilst Steve Bruce’s men do have a bit of a gap between them and the relegation spots, the fact that the local newspaper The Chronicle felt the need to point out the gap following Fulham’s win over Everton last night indicates that Newcastle United aren’t safe yet – so a win or a point at Stamford Bridge would go some way to easing a few nerves on Tyneside.
One person who didn’t ease the nerves of the fans sitting at home, though, was the Swedish right-back who they signed in the summer of 2019 for roughly £5m. Up against some major attacking threats from Chelsea in the form of wing-back Marcus Alonso and forward Timo Werner, he didn’t have the best of starts, and the comments on social media reflected that:
“Can we have anyone other than Krafth on please. I have absolutely zero confidence in him.”
Do you want Krafth to leave?
Yes, he isn't good enough
No, he is a decent squad player
He’s going to have to do better than this if he wants to give the Magpies any chance of increasing that gap between them and the bottom three.
