Leeds United fans on Twitter have been responding to the latest post from The Athletic journalist Phil Hay regarding Marcelo Bielsa and his future at the Yorkshire club.
This comes after Hay recently shared a post on his official Twitter page claiming that Bielsa has “been involved in talks about the next transfer window and people close to him say he is more and more invested in the ‘long game’ at Leeds.”
This post then gathered a lot of replies from Whites fans who were quick to share their thoughts on this latest post from the journalist. Understandably, much of the Elland Road faithful were absolutely buzzing with the update.
So, what did these Leeds fans have to say in response to this latest post from Hay on Bielsa and his future at Elland Road?
“So good waking up to this news. Keeping hold of Bielsa is and always should be Leeds’ number one priority. It’ll be a dark day when he leaves our club.”
” Yes Phil, this is the news we all needed!”
“Needed that boost after a defeat, cheers Phil”
“Fantastic news, weekend saved”
“Best news ever. We had 16 years of inadequate managers and I need another 13 years of what Bielsa has brought to compensate, minimum. #lufc“
“Please, please, let this be true. For a starting point we need a full Elland Road to celebrate the achievements of this amazing man.”
“I’m absolutely buzzing with this information”
“Best news of the weekend!”
“Wow I honestly didn’t expect it I thought this is the last season I’m glad he’s thinking long term”
Looking at the replies to this post, it appears that these Leeds fans are over the moon with Hay’s post and would be delighted to see Bielsa remain at the club beyond his current contract, which is due to run out at the end of this season.
Given how Bielsa guided the club out of the Championship and into the Premier League after a 16-year absence, it’s understandable why these Leeds fans would be happy to see the Argentine remain as the manager at Elland Road for the foreseeable future.
Do you think Bielsa will sign a new deal at Leeds?
In our view, if Bielsa can end this season with Leeds clear of the relegation zone, he should continue his role at the club and try and improve them so they can progress for next season.
