Fans of Celtic have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which highlighted Neil Lennon’s comments following the club’s defeat in their Old Firm clash on Saturday.

Following the 1-0 defeat, which left Celtic 19 points behind Rangers in the Scottish Premiership table, Lennon claimed that the result was ‘bitterly disappointing’ as he felt his side were the ‘better team’.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

The 49-year-old went on to state that he didn’t think Nir Bitton’s 62nd-minute red card was a dismissible offence, and that this decision changed the ‘course of the game’.

The Northern Irishman then repeated his belief that his side were the better team in the fixture, before stating that his side must win their two games in hand on Rangers, as well as every other game over the course of the rest of the season.

However, after Lennon’s comments were relayed on Twitter, fans of Celtic flocked to have their say on the matter, with many taking aim at the manager for the result and their team’s below-par performance in the league.

“hopefully yer last interview the most mediocre appointment the board have ever made”

@matthewd_67

“Lennon is in denial. He failed to inspire his players into getting a clear win. No point ‘ dominating’ if you can’t produce goals at the right end of the pitch.”

@johnnybelfast

“Bye Neil.”

@David201130

“Off ye go. Legendary status is gone. Along with certain players. Absolute shambolic season.”

@TheTimAlloys

@Worldhasg0nemad

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Celtic fans believe that Lennon’s time is up at the club, with many claiming that Celtic’s league position is embarrassing, while others stated that the 49-year-old’s legendary status at the club has vanished.
