Pundit and former striker Darren Bent has recently made a claim about Frank Lampard and why he should be the future Celtic manager.
Bent recently appeared on the latest episode of the TalkSport Breakfast show and the panel talked about Lampard’s current situation. The former striker Bent made it clear that he would love to see Lampard manage Celtic in the future and described them to be a ‘massive’ club with a big fan base too.

Lampard was sacked by Chelsea recently and it was revealed that the club’s players were unhappy about the club’s legend lack of tactical instructions and his relationship with Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia had broken down too (as per The Athletic).
Bent tipped 42-year-old Lampard to manage Celtic, win some trophies and then get a move back to a Premier League side.
He said: “I’d love to see him go. Celtic, Rangers – two massive clubs. Frank, a season at Derby, gone to Chelsea and it’s been difficult for him. But going to somewhere like a Celtic as well, massive football club, big fanbase, in the hunt to win trophies every single season. I think it would do him some good. I know [there’s] a lot of pressure up there considering you’ve got to finish above Rangers and vice-versa, I understand that.
“Look at the time that Steven Gerrard was given at Rangers and look how good they’ve become. If Frank’s given the same time at Celtic, that’d be superb. I think you’ve seen what it can do to certain managers, you look at Brendan Rodgers – went up there, won absolutely everything, came back, got a very, very good job at Leicester. There’s no reason why Frank can’t do the same.”

During his stint at Chelsea, Lampard had a points-per-match tally of 1.75 for the Blues, while managing a total of 84 games at the club. Even at Derby, he had a points-per-match record of 1.63, which is a pretty good tally in 57 games (as per Transfermarkt).
This shows that he is certainly a capable manager and considering that he took Chelsea to fourth place despite operating under a transfer ban, he might not be a bad option for the Hoops at all. Also, the Englishman made very good use of the youth academy at Chelsea. All these factors may be enough for the Celtic board to consider Lampard as an option.
