Many Celtic fans have been slating Shane Duffy over his performance in the Glasgow club’s latest Scottish Premiership clash with Livingston.
Per The Daily Record, the £6.3m-rated man didn’t enjoy a great start to this game, as his ‘needless foul’ led to Livingston scoring the opening goal of the game in the 15th minute, while later on in the first half, his stumble almost allowed Livingston midfielder Scott Pittman to get through on goal.
So, what have these Celtic fans been saying about Duffy?
With that in mind, it may be understandable why many fans of the Glasgow club flocked to Twitter to share that they were disappointed with the 29-year-old’s performance in Wednesday evening’s Premiership clash at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
“Get Frimpong on and Duffy off. This is a disgrace.”
“Shane duffy is the worst centre back ever to grace a celtic shirt”
“Sub Duffy off now seriously. Horrific.”
“Duffy usual clumsy attempt at ball .Bitton no idea.”
“Duffy is a complete liability in every game”
Is this criticism fair?
“Shane Duffy is absolutely shocking”
“Duffy and Bitton should never start for Celtic again, both absolutely brutal”
The Irishman did have to get some treatment due to a knock early on in the first half, but judging by these tweets, it’s clear that not many Celtic fans have sympathy for him as a result of that and they feel he should be doing better.
