Football pundit Carlton Palmer has been discussing the possibility of Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Adam Reach making a transfer move to Celtic.

Interestingly, the Hoops have been linked with the attacker in recent weeks, and former Owls man Palmer had his say on whether a move to Celtic would suit the 27-year-old.

Speaking exclusively to Football FanCast, Palmer had this to say about a potential move to Parkhead for Reach.

Which club did Brown join Celtic from?

He said: “Adam really hasn’t fulfilled his potential. He’s another one on big money there [at Wednesday] and he’s out of contract at the end of the season. So I could see that being a fit for Celtic.”

Wednesday signed Reach back in the 2016 summer transfer window from fellow Championship side Middlesbrough for a fee of £5.31 million.

Since then, Reach, who is currently valued at £2.88 million and allegedly on £20,000 a week, has made 208 appearances for the Owls in which he has managed to score 21 goals and provide 33 assists along the way (per Transfermarkt).

TIF Thoughts on Carlton Palmer’s comments regarding a potential Celtic move for Reach…

With Reach’s contract at the Yorkshire club set to run out at the end of June this year as Palmer mentioned, he could be a potential free transfer that Celtic could snap up at some point during the next summer transfer window to strengthen their attacking prowess.

It also means he can be approached now by potential suitors, so it remains to be seen if Celtic follow through with their reported interest.

Palmer’s suggestion that Reach hasn’t reached his potential may suggest he believes Celtic could get more out of him if he were to move up north.

However, with Reach having only managed to score two goals and provide two assists in the 22 Championship appearances he’s made so far this season and also earn himself a rather disappointing season rating of 6.51/10 for his performances along the way, this could potentially put off Celtic if they decide to make a move for him in the summer.
