TalkSPORT pundit Jason Cundy has suggested that Tottenham Hotspur forward Harry Kane may be questioning whether he can enjoy success at Spurs.

Jose Mourinho’s men suffered a major blow in their hunt for a Champions League spot as well as their rather less likely hunt for the Premier League title with their defeat to Liverpool. Kane had to leave the game early after suffering injuries to both ankles in what will surely damage their chances of success this season all the more given the firepower they are set to lose.

And with that possibly making it another season without silverware being brought to the white half of north London, speaking on the TalkSPORT Daily podcast, former Tottenham and Chelsea defender Cundy feels that now might be the time for him to think about his future, arguing that he deserves a better chance at another club:

“No disrespect, but Harry Kane is better than Spurs. He is, he is better than this, he deserves better than this. I just wonder how he would be privately feeling now about where Spurs are going under Jose, where can Spurs realistically get?”

Do you think Spurs would ever sell Harry Kane?

No, they wouldn't sell

No, they wouldn't sell

Yes, if he wanted to leave

Yes, if he wanted to leave

TIF Thoughts on Jason Cundy’s Harry Kane comments…

Cundy isn’t the first person to talk about whether or not Kane will leave Spurs in the pursuit of trophies, and he certainly won’t be the last either.

And having been a regular in the first team for coming up to seven seasons now without lifting a trophy, that talk is likely to grow louder and louder, because there is only so much that the ‘one of our own’ factor of playing for your boyhood club can keep a player loyal before the call for silverware becomes too much, as history has shown us.

So Kane shouldn’t feel tied down or obliged to stay. He’s given plenty to the club over the years, and if he wants to win something elsewhere, would Spurs fans really blame him for wanting to do so?
