Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have taken to Twitter to criticise the first-half performance of Tottenham left-back, Ben Davies.

Having been in and out of the Tottenham team so far this season, starting nine of a possible 20 Premier League fixtures for Jose Mourinho’s side prior to the Brighton & Hove Albion match, Davies was given the nod to start at left wing-back by the 57-year-old in Sunday evening’s clash against the Seagulls.

A nice easy one to start off with, who is Tottenham's record signing?

However, shortly after giving away a foul in the 15th minute of the game, Brighton scored the opener through Leandro Trossard, leading to many fans of Spurs taking to Twitter to slam the 27-year-old’s mistake, as well as his general performance in the fixture.

Is Davies good enough for Spurs?

So, what exactly did these Tottenham Hotspur fans have to say about the first-half performance of Ben Davies?

“is davies playing against us?”

@JoshCOYS36

Ben Davies is the weak link in our defence right now. #THFC”

@BenedictCOYS

Get davies out of this club every time he gets the ball passes back or gives a foul away! #COYS #BHATOT”

@Ha33ySpurs

“there is no worse left back than ben davies”

@JasperCOYS

Dreadful, absolutely dreadful. You can see why it’s not Spurs’ Ben Davies Liverpool are after! All Brighton so far and it no surprise they’re ahead. #thfc #coys”

@twiteringgoose

Shocking defending from a Welsh International – DAVIES!!!! #BHATOT #COYS”

@theshadymclone

How soft are our defenders? Davies easily bullied. Last 3 games we’ve been tissue paper. Too many poor players under a poor coach #THFC #COYS #BHATOT”

@CoulsdonTHFC

How is Ben Davies still playing for us. He is so poor, miss Reguilon marauding down the left #COYS”

@CarlAvo10

With Sergio Reguilon missing the fixture through injury, the Brighton game appeared to be a chance for Davies to stake his claim as Tottenham’s regular left-back, however, after seeing the comments of these Spurs fans, it would appear that the £15.75 million-rated man has done nothing to convince them he deserves a spot in the side.
