Fans of Tottenham Hotspur have been reacting to a post on Twitter, in which Alasdair Gold shared footage of young Spurs striker, Dane Scarlett.
In the footage, all eight goals from the club’s FA Youth Cup tie against Newport County can be seen, a fixture in which, somewhat remarkably, despite winning 6-2, Tottenham trailed 2-0 in the first half. However, five goals from Scarlett eventually saw the U18 side comfortably qualify for the next round.
After sharing the footage on Twitter, Gold then commented that Scarlett’s hat-trick-sealing finish, an improved Cruyff turn-style flick, was a ‘thing of beauty’.
In reaction, fans of Spurs flocked to have their say on the matter, with many heaping praise on Scarlett for his performance in the cup win, as well as commenting on the potential the striker appears to possess.
