A lot of Newcastle United fans have flocked to Twitter to share their thoughts on Toon midfielder Jonjo Shelvey’s performance in the North East club’s latest Premier League clash with Aston Villa.

The £13.05m-rated man started this game in central midfield alongside Jeff Hendrick and Miguel Almiron.

Per ChronicleLive, the 28-year-old created a notable goalscoring opportunity for his side in the 23rd minute via a corner kick which had to be cleared from just in front of the goal line by Tyrone Mings.

The delivery of that corner wasn’t enough to please some fans of the North East club, however.

So, what have these Newcastle United fans been saying about Jonjo Shelvey?

Many Newcastle United supporters have been slating the Englishman over his performance versus Villa on Twitter, with some questioning his work ethic.

All in all, it’s clear that plenty of Toon fans expect more from the £70k-per-week midfielder, who is currently the third-highest-earning player in Steve Bruce’s first-team squad, per Spotrac.
