A lot of Newcastle United fans have replied to a post from The Chronicle that contains a link to their live blog.
From there is a report from Football League World, which claims that the Toon have submitted an enquiry for Stoke City’s former Manchester United midfielder Nick Powell.
They claim that sources close to Stoke have informed them that the Toon have been impressed by Powell and have asked the Potters to see if he is available, but he is not for sale as it stands.
However, even if he was, we don’t think many Newcastle fans would be keen on his signing judging by some of these reactions.
“He really is mocking us, he’s even prepping his team for the championship next season”
“Desperate times”
“Nick Powell? It’s gets worse!!”
Do you want Newcastle to sign Powell?
No, he isn't good enough
Yes, I would take anyone at this point
Powell was signed by the Red Devils in 2012, though in his career, he has only made six Premier League appearances, alongside five appearances under Steve Bruce while he was with Hull City.
However, he has impressed this season for the Potters, earning a 7.26 average rating from 23 league appearances in which he has scored seven goals and provided two assists.
This post continued to draw in disappointed Toon fans.
“Nick Powell wow is that really where we r”
“The lad has talent but his attitude is shocking”
“Oh my word!!!”
It will be interesting to see if Stoke’s stance on the 26-year-old changes before the end of the transfer window and if he does end up on Tyneside.
However, we can’t imagine too many Toon fans would be happy about it if he did.
