Fans of Newcastle United have been reacting to a post on Twitter, which provided an update on the transfer situation of potential Newcastle target, Nabil Bentaleb.

According to a report by The Chronicle, Bentaleb, who played 15 games for Newcastle over a six-month loan spell last season, could be offered to a number of Premier League clubs, including the Magpies, in the January transfer window.

Easy one to get us underway, in what month during 2019 was Steve Bruce appointed Newcastle manager?

A further report by The Chronicle then relayed comments made by new Schalke manager, Christian Gross, who stated that £3.6 million-rated midfielder would be sold in January ‘if a buyer can be found’.

However, after The Chronicle shared this report on Twitter, fans of Newcastle flocked to have their say on the matter, with many appearing outraged by the idea of their club resigning the 26-year-old.

Do you think Bentaleb would be a good signing for Newcastle?

So, what exactly did these Newcastle United fans have to say in reaction to their club’s link with a move for Nabil Bentaleb?

“Rather resign Stephen Ireland”

“Waste of a shirt, this type of player as Hendrick weakens the squad rather than strengthening it. Far better players here already.”

“Does anyone have anything positive at all to say about him? Like did he do anything at all to warrant being linked with us again??? He was absolutely dire!”

“Why?!? He was terrible. I’d have matty L all day over him”

“No no no.”

“No no no no please no”

“Have we not suffered enough?”

“You are joking”

All in all, it would appear that the vast majority of these Newcastle fans are firmly against the idea of their club making a move to resign Bentaleb, with some deeming the midfielder a waste of a shirt, while others questioned whether the report was a joke.
