Many Celtic fans have been talking about the latest tweet from Ramon Vega that recently emerged on social media.

Vega, who happens to be a former Celtic player, recently quote-tweeted a post from the club’s official account. The club’s tweet carried the result of Celtic’s 2-0 loss to Ross County in the second round of the Scottish League Cup.

In his tweet, Vega said that the Celtic players have no pride and respect for the Parkhead-based club. He said that irrespective of whether they are playing for Neil Lennon or not, they are playing for Celtic and they have a responsibility on their shoulders.

This tweet from the club’s former player caught the attention of many Celtic fans, who made their opinion clear about what he had to say.

Do the Celtic players deserve blame as well?

Vega was at Parkhead for a season and a half and he had arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in December 1999. He left Celtic in the summer of 2001 and joined Watford (as per Transfermarkt).

As things stand, the Hoops find themselves 11 points behind the Gers in the Premiership table. They have been knocked out of the League Cup and the Europa League as well (as per Transfermarkt).

Some other Celtic fans also flocked to Vega’s tweet and made their feelings known about it.

Some of these Celtic fans believe that Vega’s opinion doesn’t matter too much since he didn’t play for the club long enough. Others feel that Neil Lennon should also be blamed for the situation at Parkhead.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner has also blamed the players for their performances. Another former Celtic player in Kris Commons has also accused the players of letting Lennon down.

Furthermore, Lennon himself has criticised the players this season. So, Vega isn’t alone in blaming the players and perhaps, the fans should also point the finger at the Hoops’ stars instead of criticising Lennon.
